The Family Reunion

Q: Why isn't Lukis wearing his customary sunglasses?
A: Against dresscode for the party.

Q: ...So why is Nova wearing HERS?
A: Because she has a problem with athority and anyone who imposes dresscodes. And since it's her dad's rule she feels obligated to break it.

Q: Why the hell is Bruno there, in the same room as his father?
A: Because Yahweh told him to be. Yahweh says jump, you say how high.

If you don't get what's going on, here's some diologue:

This is Unteroffizier Nova Morgenstern, German Army, Ypres, 1915.

Unteroffizier is one level above Private, equivialant to Corprol, I think.

Done in Sakura pens and Copic markers for this thread, Muck which someone needs to join.

Those of you who know me will know that I'm a history nerd and a total World War (Both parts) buff. And of course Nova is German. Actually, she's Russian and British in World War Two, but German in Number One.

And her name does change depending on what country her human disguise is from. Morgenstern in German for Morningstar.

This is Nova when she's not around humans.

If I ever write the first bit of the Morningstar Chronicles, you will meet this Nova. She's evil, really evil. She was in the army (it's required of all citizens of Hell, unless they get a written exemption, but Nova wanted to do it, because she enjoys making things die), and this was the uniform. Well, the dress uniform, and the one in the early days.

ANYWAY.

I've done a ton of designs of Nova's nasty side and it just got freakier and freakier. At first it was the weird eyes, then the slightly bizarre facial bones, then the horns, then the spikes and the tail. I'm a little sad I didn't get to do a back veiw because she's got this really wonderful ridge of spikes, like the ones on her elbows, only cooler, all the way down her spine.

Some of you around here, on Godlings, probably know/will know this Nova a little more than others.

Man, this took me a lot longer than I thought it was.

I forgot my pencils and paper today, so used a pen to doodle in my notebook. Then I liked how they turned out.

Oh man, I spent way too long on this. And it's kind of crappy, but whatever.

I do like the idea of this one. I wanted to do something less feral but also not too human with her, and this just kind of happened. At first, she didn't have all that cloth, but then it just...evolved.

Oh, and Phosphorus is the element named after the planet Venus, AKA the Morningstar. It glows, actually. Phosphorus is greek for light bringer. Also, since it's an explosive, I thought it fit Nova.

And as Caia has already said, "LOOK, BUTT!!"

This is something I started doodling a while ago, when I was thinking about Nova’s history. Just some little sketches of how she looked throughout the millennia. France was for the crusades and the 1940’s was WWII, the Russian Partisans. I don’t know about England yet, but she would have stopped off there. And, of course, Rome, though that look basically goes from 500 BC to the very early AD’s.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Nova that I've ever drawn and I was really worried about getting the color to look right. I THINK I've got it down, but...well, here's hoping. Tell me what you think, I'm open to suggestions.

I started just doodiling her in her hat with her fag (I've got this weird thing about drawing smoke lately, it's so much fun) and then I added the coat and then I wanted to do her DIE uniform, so there you are. Sargent Morningstar of the Seventh. I've got one of Cirrus too that may or may not get colored, we'll see.
