The last little bit of life she had was leaving her lungs and she knew it. Would she finally just be able to part fully from this condemned world?
"You can stop them, Sai."
Sakuya heard follow the last slow beat of her heart. Her eyes rolled into the back of her head, her hand hit the floor with a thud, and the coins shook violently as the spirit in them ceased. They landed on the floor, scattered.
Pain, gone.
Bliss, gone.
Worries, gone.
Heart ache, gone.
Nothing.

Sai stopped. Nova paused, staring down, her breath too hard, her chest too tight. She stared down at the woman. “Sai,” she said. “Christ, get the hell up. SAI!!”
She hit the floor hard with a closed fist. Ehkol’p grabbed her wrist with his spindly fingers, stronger than he looked. “Don’t,” he said. “She’s gone.”
“No, she’s not!”
He didn’t understand her English but he obviously got the gist of the statement. “Highness, don’t. You’ll just hurt yourself.”
She gritted her teeth. “No, no, no, no!” she growled. “By fire and sky, ice and snow, she’s going to be all right.”
“She’s not,” Ehkol’p said. It was the way demons comforted; by telling the truth. Nova wasn’t in the mood for it. She growled at him and backhanded him across the face. He fell back, clutching his bony cheek.
“Shut up, worm,” she snarled. He stared at her, but she ignored him and turned back to Sai. “Wake up,” she muttered. “Wake up, wake up, wake UP!”

OOC: Sorry, my fault ^^; I'll try to be better
XDXDXDDXDXDXDXDXDXDDXDXDXDXDXD
Everything from her thought process to her ability to breathe froze in instant Sai went limp. It was like a bad dream, where things only got worse, and the only thing she could feel was something akin to suffocation.
That was probably her forgetting to breathe, but who had the time for such trivial things like air when your friend just took a step closer to visiting Hel?...or Hades, or whoever guards the underworld wherever she came from.
Kanto's fists clenched. She was not letting Sai take the easy way out of this after all the suffering they've gone though so far in this place.
"You told me to tell you to stop them," she said. "I did what you told me to. So open your eyes."
No response.
"I swear by Asgard, I will personally feed you to Loki if you don't get up right now."
Nothing.
Her nails pressed into her palm, pain still sharp despite the bandages.
"Get up you...you..." The curse that left her gave her pause. Scandinavian. There's a vocabulary she hadn't used in a while.

OOC: Wow...this has taken me way longer than I thought to reply to this thread....gah! Sorry for the length... Anyway. Okay, this is getting a little too dramatic, so it's time for pancakes and pink aprons.... --- About that time the room began to shake and was filled with a white swirling mist. A woman dressed in a white and red jūnihitoe appeared in the corner of the room, she looked quite familiar, her face, her red wine eyes, and her long black wavy hair. Walking forward to the group of godlings that lay on the floor, she extended her arm out to them, in a goodly gesture. "There is no need to be alarmed and in a second you will both see why..." The woman gave a reassuring smile, she walked over to the body of Sakuya and loomed there for a moment, the next thing anyone knew was water drops started to form in the room, they floated, frozen in mid air. The woman swirled her arm quickly through the air, and the drops formed to create a stream above their heads. Placing her fingers together so she created a circle with her hands, the water gather around her hold; the water began to glow and illuminate the room. Hovering over Sakuya's face, the woman slowly pulled her finger tips apart and the water was released, splashing all over Sai's face and body. The woman raised her eyebrows in wait.
Sakuya felt a rush of air circle through her lungs, and her eyes opened. Blinded but the light that was in the room, she covered her eyes, waiting for them to adjust. At that moment she realized there was a strange figure radiating light above her, "Mother?!" Sakuya shot up and felt around her stomach where her body had been falling out of its skin. There was no open wound there, no blood, no scar, it was just all healed and smooth skin. She whipped her head around in anger, "Mother! You always do this!" Sai got up off from the floor and onto her feet to glare at her mother. Sakuya's mother just stared back at her daughter, her demure not changing at all.
"Stop being such a drama queen, Sakuya." Her mother turned her back on her daughter and floated over to the only chair in the room and sat down. "Excuse me for trying to keep my daughter alive." She looked at her daughter and sighed. From the hallway they heard a knock and then an Asian looking man came into the room carrying plates covered with pancakes and syrup. The man had long black hair pulled back into a pony tail that hung down to mid-back and he was sporting a rather floral pink apron. Sakuya smacked herself in the face with her hand.
"Dad! Your fluffy pancakes can't solve everything..." She fumed. Obviously ticked about seeing her parents come to her rescue, and a rescue that she wasn't even sure she wanted. Sakuya's mother sat there, still staring at her daughter,
"I apologize for my daughter's behavior...she seems to have some form of a death wish." At that time, Sakuya's father put the pancakes down on the small table in the room and was humming a soft tune. His wife gave him a look, "Ryota, please." He stopped, realizing this was a far more intense case of "serious" than his pancakes could handle. But that didn't mean that he wouldn't try and make it work. He walked over to the other girls,
"Pancakes, my dears?" He wasn't smiling, but he was simply trying to break the tension in the room.
Sakuya took a deep breath and calmly looked back and forth at her parents, ignoring the two other godlings in the room. "What if it was my time? What if it was fate that I died? Hmm?!" Her gaze was piercing, and her tongue seemed to have fire spurting from it. Her mother stared her down as she stood up and gracefully walked over to her,
"It is never your time my dear, I know many things, and you were put here for a reason. You have a duty to fulfill, and a country to look after. Honor to uphold. Immortality comes with that job - whether you want to except that fact or not." Her mother's eyes were filled with pure despair and sadness as she stated these words with no twinge of emotion. They were far too rehearsed. "Some of us do not have a choice." Sakuya's eyes were locked with her mothers. Her face changed, and the muscles in her body relaxed. Nodding her head Sakuya bowed deeply to Benzaiten.
"You are right. Please forgive my selfishness." Benzaiten nodded her head and then took her daughter in an embrace.
"It is okay to be selfish every once in a while Saku, just not with this matter." Benten released her arms from her daughter. Sakuya nodded, she turned to her friends. With both hands together, she bowed, "I apologize, I should have been more careful when we were walking through that old motel. I do not expect forgiveness, and I am certainly expecting to be beaten to death by the both of you. So, I suppose," Sakuya stood back up and grinned at her friends, and then looked at her father, "I want some pancakes?"
Ryota smirked at his daughter, glad that she seemed to be back to the Saku he knew. "Pancakes coming right up!" Sai just smiled, a couple tears were waiting at the edge of her eyes.
"Could you at least get a different apron for when you cook around my friends? I don't know if I can handle anymore awful pink floral." She let out a great big laugh.

Dreams, Nova had found, were the most notable things to beat physics with a stick. So she decided that this was a dream. She sat there on the floor, with her back against the bed and the demon at her elbow, watching though eyes clouded by confusion and pain, with a half-smile on her face. Relief welled though her; Sai was all right.
"Does this happen often, Princess?" Ehkol'p asked her. She looked over at him, those wide lamp-like eyes fixed on the man in the apron.
"Not really," Nova replied, too tired and confused to think properly.
He nodded and folded himself into a sitting position next to her without speaking.
"Kanto, are there two divine beings in this room making pancakes?" she asked quietly, "or did I get hit harder than I thought?"
